Meet Your Doctor
Dr. Mohammad Abbas graduated from Damascus University Faculty of Medicine in Syria and completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology. In 2011, he moved to the United States to continue his medical training.
He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of New Mexico (UNM), contributing to cancer and neuroscience research. He then completed a pre-residency fellowship in Neuro-critical Care in the UNM Department of Neurosurgery, followed by a Neurology residency at UNM, which he finished in 2021. To focus on chronic pain, he completed an Interventional Pain Medicine fellowship in the UNM Anesthesia Program.
After his fellowship, Dr. Abbas moved to Florida with his family and now practices as an Interventional Pain Physician at Wesley Chapel Spine and Sports Medicine. His approach combines interventional and non-interventional, evidence-based pain treatments, with the goal of improving each patient’s quality of life.
Outside of medicine, his family is his greatest source of joy. Being a husband and father shapes the way he cares for his patients and their well-being.
